Tropical Global Restaurante respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we may collect when you visit this website or get in touch with us, how we use it and what your rights are, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect
- Data you give us — when you place an order or booking, or contact us by phone or WhatsApp: for example your name, phone number, order details and the messages you send us.
- Technical data — when you visit the website, our hosting provider may automatically log data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the date and time of access.
- Usage data, only with your consent — if you accept analytics cookies, we collect data about how you use the site (pages viewed, clicks, device type, approximate location). See section 4.
3. How we use your data
- To prepare and manage orders and bookings and to talk to you about them (performance of a contract).
- To answer your enquiries (legitimate interest).
- To keep the website running and secure (legitimate interest).
- To measure and improve how the site is used, only if you accept analytics cookies (consent).
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting.
We do not use your data for advertising or for automated decision-making.
4. Cookies and local storage
Essential: the site keeps the order you're building on the menu, and your cookie choice, in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and you can delete it at any time.
Analytics (only with consent): if you click "Accept" on the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to measure visits and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) to understand how the site is used, through heatmaps and session recordings in which anything you type into forms is hidden. These services set cookies such as _ga (up to 2 years), _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day). If you decline, none of this is loaded. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button in the footer of every page.
We don't use advertising cookies. The Google map (loaded only if you ask for it) may use its own cookies.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your data. We only share it with service providers needed to run the restaurant and the website — for example web hosting, communication services such as WhatsApp, map services and, if you allow it, the analytics tools Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — or where the law requires it. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Any transfer of data outside the European Economic Area is made with the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires.
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
8. Your rights
You may at any time ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, to restrict or object to its processing, and for data portability, and you may withdraw any consent you have given. To do so, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (cnpd.pt).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated.
